Type of Assessment
Written and oral examination. The written part relates on design of experiment part, the oral one onobservational and experimental studies and longitudinalanalysis - repeated measures)
Course program
Introduction to design and analysis of experiments (strategy of experimentation, some typical applications, basic principles as randomization and balance).
Simple comparative experiments (difference in means randomized or paired comparison designs).
Experiments with a single factor (the analysis of variance and the regression approach to the analysis of variance).
Randomized Blocks designs(randomized complete block and balanced incomplete block designs).
Latin squares designs (Latin Square and Graeco-Latin Square designs).
Introduction to factorial designs (two-factor factorial design). Nested Design. Random effects models.
Clinical Trials. Observational and experimental studies (cohort and case-control studies) Longitudinal data.
